dolores heights residence

taking a dark and internalized interior, the design objective was to create the antithesis - an open, serene, light filled space, where a couple could prepare for their hectic day and unwind at the end of the night, and warm, relaxing suites where family and friends could have their own sanctuary for an extended stay.

in house design/build execution and construction management allowed a full reflection of the client's dreams of a uniquely personal space. this is expressed in the numerous custom elements - stainless steel soaking tub, casework, flush deck steam shower enclosure, shower bench, glazed sliding doors, and an alternating stair to the roof space.

as a zero lot line structure with windows only at the front and rear of the house, new fire rated property line windows were added, bringing light into the otherwise isolated interior of this comprehensive remodel. custom glazed doors and translucent openings were added to rooms adjacent to the skylit stairwell to brighten the spaces. installation of a rooftop solar power system completed the project.
